Proposed Changes for 2001

A. Classes will be GT-1 and GT-2.
B. Weekend format will be revised to reflect the big race on Saturday and the Sunday race to be either inverted or time delayed. We might try other options to make our races more fan friendly. If we do not have a Friday Test & Tune, we will have the big race on Sunday.
C. Points system revised.
D. Gen 1 cars will get relief in weight and/or engine modifications to head.
E. Chief steward will be on the air, on a preset channel, so that he can communicate to the pit crews as to track conditions, up coming penalties and general information.
F. Finals results will count towards the determining the National Champion.
G. A vehicle will be positioned at hot pits that will have a jack, wrench, spare tire and board to facilitate the quick change of a flat. This will help reduce the lost track time.
H. Tech Inspection will be the same at all events, Weighing cars, checking computers with a DRB, Checking compression, pressure, rockers and springs and the sealing the valve covers and oil pan. This will take more time and drivers should plan accordingly.
I. Upon completion of race, top three finishers will immediately be scaled. All racecars will have a racing seat.
J. All racecars will have an electrical shut-off.
K. All racecars will have a fire suppression system.
L. All racecars will have a window net affixed to the frame or cage or arm restraints and they will be used at all times!
M. All race drivers will wear there suits, gloves and shoes at all times in car.
N. All seat belts will conform to rules – not older than two years. Passenger seats must have same type of belts as driver.
O. All RT/10 Vipers will run with a hardtop or roll bar!
P. Racers must complete 50% of race to qualify for points.

These are some of the 2001 changes that may be put into effect. Your input is requested on additional areas that need to be addressed. Those that have e-mailed their ideas, we greatly appreciate your input and it will be considered before the final rules are completed.
