Just submitted an ad to the classifieds to sell my 2006 First Edition Coupe, number 87 out of 200. Ad is not yet approved.

Bought a 2009 ACR from Bernie Katz at Tomball. Don't have the new one yet so no pics but here's a description of the 2006 that I'm selling for $59900. Look at the mods this car is ready to rumble. 25000 miles on the car but the engine is new and the supercharger just rebuilt. The mods are worth over $25000. No kidding.

2006 Paxton Supercharged First Edition Coupe. Number 87 out of 200. Race Logic traction control. Car has put down 646 RWHP on a Dynojet with a very safe Air to Fuel ratio.

New Arrow Racing engine with additional work just completed by Chuck Tator, the Viper Wizard. Zero miles on rings. Supercharger just rebuilt by Doug Levin, one of the leading authorities on supercharging Vipers. PCM program by DC performance. Custom extra large heat exchanger for the intercooler with DC Performance high flow pump.

Corsa track exhaust with one OEM cat (high flows don't hold up) per side. Diamond forged pistons, Mopar/Carillo ibeam rods, chrome molly push rods, ATI damper, 08 swinging oil pickup, PLX digital 100 OBD gauge with wide band O2 sensors on both banks, complete once over by the Wizard including new MAP, Cam, Crank, AIT, O2, and TPS sensors. New fuel filter, and new fluids for clutch, trans, oil, diff, and brakes. New MGW shifter and shorty shifter knob just installed by the Wizard. 170 degree thermostat. Catch can system.

Newly chromed SRT 5 spoke wheels with zero miles on them - beautifully done by LA Wheel. Ok, they do have Run Flats on them with about 5000 miles on them.

2008 Hood painted and installed by Chris Barone, site sponsor and well known Viper specialist. 2006 Hood is available at extra cost. New painted front Fascia by the Wizard, never in an accident but I wanted the car perfect. Stop Tech rotors like the new ACRs. Alignment with -2 degrees front camber, -1 degree rear camber.

7/70 Chrysler Warranty transferable.

Car is in MA but I'm in CO. If you have questions about this car you can contact Chuck Tator, the Viper Wizard on 914-763-3136 or me on 917-733-4555. This car is fast.

When looking for a modified Viper, look at cars like this that are worked on by supporting vendors. These cars will be the best value as they have been sorted and qualified.

Wow... very similar to my car, except with double the miles... Good luck with the sale! Why are you selling the 06 vs 08? Just want 2 gen4's in the garage?

Good luck with the sale George, just remember that you were going to call me when you get out here.

You might want to still bring the 06' out to CO, as you are going to miss the power. The altitude will get you everytime. The Supercharger kind of equalizes that altitude issue all out so the blown and boosted cars are the way to go in the Rockies with the insane elevation. It's nothing to just drop 100 hp on a factory GEN IV just because of the altitude alone and its NA nature. It is quite different from sea level.

You will get the idea driving your 08' around here for a while, if you have it out.

BTW Congratulations on the new ACR.

Not trying to derail your post but I have to ask a question. Is supercharging the death of these motors?

I only ask because all I've heard is my motor is a ticking time bomb with the Paxton and it's only a matter of time before it blows.

It's a 2006. Ok, I understand. I've looked over the site and I see that there are a lot of cars putting down some very good numbers and it would appear they don't have any problems. That's why I was asking.

Ok you should be fine but I would get it tuned if you have not. If you are running a safe tune then you will enjoy thousands of safe miles. These engines are built tuff. Back to the OP!

Good luck with the sale George! Looks like you have a killer viper there!

I only ask because all I've heard is my motor is a ticking time bomb with the Paxton and it's only a matter of time before it blows.

You can blow up your engine if not properly tuned. The V10 seems to like A/F less than 12:1 under boost. Above this level can lead to detonation and that is when very bad things happen. My car is pretty conservatively tuned. A/F never goes above 12:1under boost. I have dual wide band O2s connected to a PLX gauge mounted on the Steering wheel bezel. The gauge is programmed to alert (flash red) if the A/F goes over 12:1 when boost is over 2.0 pounds.

Chuck Tator recently had the engine torn down and noticed no signs of detonation. However, as an added level of safety my engine has forged internals which add an extra safety cushion. Chuck tells me the rods are good to something like 1200HP.

To those that may ask why Chuck tore down the engine, we were looking for the cause of a sudden drop in performance. The main problem turned out to be a bad Split Second box (the electronics box that comes with the Paxton kit). However when Chuck was in the engine, he rehoned it and put in new rings. Doug Levin sent us a new Split Second box and all is well.

Forged internals can withstand more abuse than the stock pistons so I would always recommend them on a supercharged car. They are not cheap though. The rods and the pistons were almost $5,000. A swinging oil pickup also helps the engine avoid oil starvation on high speed turns while the ATI damper helps maintain accurate timing.

The parts alone on my car cost something like this: Polished Paxton Kit $7800, RaceLogic Traction Control $2000, Forged Engine internals $5000, MGW shifter $300, swinging oil pickup $900, Corsa Exhaust $1500, PLX gauge and sensors $500 or more, chrome wheels $700, chrome molly push rods $125, StopTech rotors $1500 or more, 08 hood $1250, new PCM from DC with their tune $600, catch can and braided hose $200, and other stuff. That's a total of $22,375 and that is for a partial list and doesn't include labor or paint. Speed ain't cheap!

When I think about the money I have into this car and the fact that it is a Blue/White FE car, I think maybe I'm selling it too cheaply or maybe I should keep it. I do love the color combo but I don't really have room for three Vipers. My wife did ask last night though "are you sure you don't want to keep it?" Wow, I love my wife!

any boosted engine has a shorter lifespan. (how much shorter is hard to say or prove)
any engine that is poorly tuned has a short lifespan (this goes for naturally aspirated as well)
if you have both of these situations, probably going to have an issue.

if you car was built and/or tuned by one of the trusted tuners on this site, you engine is more likely to last.
if you buy quality parts and have a solid build, its more likely to last (ie: fuel system to support the power and more)
if you look at the list of parts on this car and who either sold them or installed them....this car is likely to last !

the list on this car is a who's who in vipers and especially BOOSTED vipers
