Slide the boot down and there is a jamb nut under the collar and the lever stalk. Or take the ring off the console and lift the boot up to access it.

Same as on any third or fourth generation car...

Remove the center cap, loosen the locknut, and then unscrew the ball... don't use anything sharp at the interface of the cap and leather, you could either cut the leather or scratch the cap. Use a nylon trim stick or something similar.

Mark's description is to remove the whole ball and lever...

You can also just pop up the consol cover, and then use two wrenches - 17mm and 19mm (if I rememebr correctly) to loosen the locknut.
