...And Saturday Night Cruise/show in Westchester at the Rose-Hill Shopping plaza hosted by the Thornwood Fire Department... I'm not sure if the plaza landlord is going to let the TFD use the parking lot this year - its been contentious the last few years because of the noise and ... errr.. tire smoke:dunno:
But if they're open I'll plan on hitting a few - It would be great if we want to get a group in there one week like Marcus Dairy. Several restaurants right there in the plaza to give Adrian something other than a car-show to check out :D I'll keep checking in with the TFD website to see if they announce a summer schedule soon.

Yes...we need a Deviled Egg Off this year! I know we have a few members in our region that would love to compete in this.

Adrian loves car shows.
When we go down to Captree he begs us to stay longer but we have to be firm with him when it's time to go.
He could spend hours just talking about cars and motors with the vette guys down there. :2tu:

I changed a lot this year compared to last year...Examples below:

2009 Captree/Car Shows
9am-9:05am: Arrive and talk about cars
9:06am-9:20am: Eat
9:21am-9:28am: Walk around and talk about cars
9:29am-9:30am: Look for ViperJon and tell him I must leave my cat is home alone

Total Time: 30mins

2010 Captree/Car Shows
9:01am-9:04am: Arive and talk about cars
9:05am-9:25am: Eat
9:26am-9:31am: Walk around and talk about cars
9:32am-9:34am: Look for ViperJon to tell him I need to get home and get ready to play X-Box later

Total Time: 33mins

Adrian and All,

I have talked to the public releations department here at Sikorsky and I can get a tour of the facility with a professional tour guide (at no cost) on a Saturday in either late June or later. There are a few caveates:

1. Date confirmed will depend on Sikorsky business calendar and tour guide availability (three date options must be provided).
2. Please plan to have your group arrive at least 15 minutes earlier for registration so the tour can start at the time planned.
3.All adults must have photo ID driver’s license.
4.All non US Citizens must bring their passport or Green Card. Without this they will not be allowed to enter.
5.Your tour will be planned around the number that is listed on this form at time of original request.
6.The number of attendees arriving that day should not vary more than 1 or 2 people from the number listed on this form.

I will need to know how many people and cars would be interested and 3 possible Saturday dates. Since my wife is due May 31st with my second daughter (my event attendance isn't going to be so good this year) I propose the following dartes:

1. Aug 7
2. Aug 21
3. Aug 28

I'm open to other dates as long as they are at least in July or after August. They have also invited all of us to participate in the Sikorsky car show this year however it is currently scheduled for Setpember 12 which conflicts with Poconos. If i can get Sikorsky to move the date I will let everyone know.

Mike, lets shoot for Aug. 7 and don't worry about changing the car show date there's no reason why we can't have two events on the same day :2tu:

Hopkins Inn Cruise Canceled For July 3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!! due to lack of interest.

Last minute CT Fall Run Sunday Oct. 31st Anyone want to join up for a run Sunday morning, meet up at the commuter parking lot Exit 26 (Rte 70 Cheshire) on I-84. Commuter lot is located right next to the I84-West entrance. Meeting time: 9:30, leave at 9:45 sharp.

The foliage looks great right now, weather for Sunday is mostly sunny with highs in the mid 50's

We'll cruise RT 8 North up to Winstead and find somewhere to stop for a gas and bathroom break. Then cruise across US 44 through North Canaan and pick up RT 7 in Canaan. We'll stay on RT 7 and end up at 1st and 10 sports bar in New Milford for lunch. Total drive time, not including stops, is 2 hrs. The plan is to be at 1st and 10 when they open at noon. Any not wishing to take the drive can meet us at 1st and 10 if you just want to have some great food and shoot the bull with us.
