3\" RT/10 side exhaust with stock headers

I am looking at installing (on my 95 RT/10) Sean Roe's 3" RT/10 side exhaust which has high flow cats and a high flow muffler. However, I am planning on keeping stock headers for now. Will this affect my performance? I have read in the SnakeOyl catalog that it will affect it negatively unless you do new 3" headers also. Is this true?

Just do it, besides -you have to start somewhere.
If there is any performance change - it would be mainly to shift the
power band up the RPM range - I would guess the peak #'s would be slightly higher.

Re: 3

The stock mufflers have so much back pressure that you should see a nice performance gain. It will definitely sound nicer (compared to the stock UPS truck sound of the side exhaust systems). I only swapped out my mufflers, and am unsure of HP/TQ gains (didn't do a before dyno) but I have never regretted the upgrade. Going to complete 3" system w/ headers - hopefully next week. I'll post before and after dyno info.

Re: 3

I was out of town all last week. Car should be done by mid-week and I will hit the dyno asap. Also got T&D's, so it won't be exhaust change only...
