My 96 RT10 has 70mm throttle bodies and I need to select an air filtration system. Does anyone have suggestions as to the best way to go? Obviously ordinary smooth tubes and k&N's won't do because they are too small. I currently use adapters which seems to defeat the purpose of the larger intake...

Check with Roe Racing. They sell a modified airbox with larger 70mm adapter tubes. They also sell the 70mm smooth tubes. You can use the regular k&n filters. All you are doing is getting the rear part of the airbox with 70mm holes and larger tubes. I have 70mm's with this setup and it works great.

I've got a modified air box from Roe that I need to get out of the garage. PM me if you don't take the one from 99 R/T 10.
