Just read my new Viper magazine and in the letters section someone wrote that they did 90 MPH in 1st gear. The car is 1995 RT/10 - I had no idea they were so well geared....

I was laughing about that too...I thought it odd that the editor(s) decided to run with it and not mention that he must have one helluva special Viper! ;)

Exactly, I mean, I look forward to our beloved publication arriving in the mail box most likely more than most, But seeing that gross of an exaggeration/mis-truth being printed in THE Viper magazine was shocking...

Does the editor drive a Viper? Should be a position requirement....

Haven't got that magazine yet, but is the guy from Canada or Europe? He could have mistyped and meant KM/HR 90km/hr equals 45mph easily achievable in first.

Close, but only as close as the US $ is to the Canadian $. Sorry, had to play that line. 90 km/hr = 56 mph which is really close to top speed in first.

"I calculate 9684rpm in first gear @90mph...."

I'll bet I know someone who could make it do that. ;-)

He probably "thought" he was in first gear but really was in third.

Reminds me of one of my friends (to remain anonymous) who says he takes turn 10a at Road Atlanta at 80MPH even though the Le Petit Lemans concept Audi's only do it at 60-63MPH. Perhaps there were a handful of speedometers that were calibrated at the factory to be plus 20-60MPH :)

I got a laugh out of that too! I too wondered if it was a Canook Viper, but he said he was in the states. Retard!
