Inside the next week, we'll be making a few layout changes to make the site's navigation uniform, the "small red Viper header" will make its way across the site, including the forums. Many areas of the site have been using the header for over a month (events, classifieds, and those entering the forums from the home page already are using this header) as the "test" before making the move side wide.
Also, a few Forum specific changes to decrease scrolling, will occur:
1) The circular Viper Club of America/ViperClub.org logo will be removed.
2) The (big) "Viper Club of America Discussion Forums" title will be removed
3) The simple text based navigation in the header will be removed.
If you want to get the total effect, click on:
VCA Forums
and then go to the "Test Post" area. You'll see how much more vertically compact this layout will be.
So far the only issue regarding the menu change has been the loss of the "site address" in the browser window. If you are like me and are used to copying that address out of the window to mail it to someone (or yourself), you'll need to use the "ViperFriend: Email This Page to Someone!" feature, or right click you mouse on the lower frame, click "Create Shortcut" and copy the address out of the URL window that will appear.
