A nice use for old tires

I had worn out my rear tires and they had been sitting around collecting dust. I have a friend who likes Vipers and the huge tires on them. I took a disc grinder and a Sawzall and went to work cutting out a section of the tire. I built a simple wood frame and attached the tire. I took a 1:24 cast Viper model and screwed it to the peice of tire and now I have a (large) desk ornament that celebrates the Viper and shows off the big Michelins they run. I have attached some photos to show the final product.

By the way cutting up an old tire is not for the faint of heart. There is a lot of steel to in there.

not bad.

if you turn them upside down they would make great cereal bowls too.

(looks like the pics were taken in the kitchen)

I would have paid good money for those tires just so I could shread them!
