I am a new viper owner, so bare with me....My 97 GTS has a strange problem with AC I am hoping some of you can help me figure it out. IT works great
at highway speeds and blows cold. When stopping at a light or in traffic,
it seems to go to defrost and blow warm air into the cabin. WHen it does this,
no air comes out of the vents in the dash, just at the windshield. As I
pick up speed, it blows cold again, and comes out of the dash vents as it should.
My local guy thinks its a vacuum leak leaving the flapper valve opening at
low engine vacuum and going to defrost. Any clues? I have a note in to the
wizard, I am waiting. Could it be as simple as a vacuum hose? Thanks

PS I read about the problems with 97 intake gaskets and the vacuum leaks.
My car idles pretty choppy, but it runs awesome with no misses or stumbles,
still, I have no baseline to compare it too being a newbie.
