Alrighty, as promised UVBNBIT, here is my post on the AL/TN gathering this w/e.

First off, I want to say a big THANK YOU to the entire club for letting me come out, snoop around, and take some pics. It was really nice meeting you all. Chip, the club president, and his wife Lisa are two of the absolute coolest people you will ever meet. I'll be indebted to both of them for quite awhile for all their hospitality. Thanks to you both for making me feel like "part of the club" this weekend. I'll never forget it and I hope to be back with my own Viper in the future!

(I want to apologize to viperchick12 as the pics I took of your car didn't turn out well at all. That SC'd Viper just wouldn't stand still. Same to Joseph Dell, I was to busy gawking at your car on the track and forgot to take any still shots of it)

Now, without further delay, here are the best of all the pictures....

ViperChick's car was on fire! 11.3 @128 or 130. I ran an 11.1 @ 140 and then the bikes showed up. One oiled down the return road and the day was shot. A good time was had by all. Thanks for putting the event on!

Thanks. The camera is just your average run of the mill 7.1 MP Kodak Z710 that can be found at your local Wally-World ;)

Yeah, me AND my camera pretty much fell in love with the silver RT that day.

ViperCrazed... these two pics are for you (the first one is my truck... the second is the real diesel race truck that didn't get to come this weekend)

mike & juli... the next is a better shot of Brett's purple/green gts... :2tu:

Chip... I think Joseph and Micky & I left the track around 7:00 or so Alabama time. Micky & I stopped to eat and fill up with diesel in Anniston. We ended up getting home about 1:30 am GA time... it was worth it though :headbang: We did have a blowout on the trailer (I think it happened about 10 miles from the house because thats when we noticed a little bit of swaying... I just thought Micky was that sleepy), but it didn't slow us down any because we didn't realize it until we got up the next morning (I know Chip and Joseph are getting a good laugh right now :D since Micky was bragging about how we never had any trouble w/ the trailer on racing trips)...

Again... EVERYONE was super nice, but I do want to especially thank Joseph and Chip :) - You guys are AWESOME and Chip you definitely know how to drive your car!

In person you could definitely tell it was purple, but in the pics it does have more of a blue look to it

ViperCrazed... help me out with what you mean by TGP

The Talladega Grand Prix raceway.

It's setup for bike racing but they host the occasional auto-X.

I think your club is going there in July :)

They've actually "re-modeled" to make it more "auto-friendly".:drive: Wider and longer:2tu: I hear. We're all looking forward to it. More cars are committing each day.:D . I'm gonna see if I've got some pics to add from this past weekend, but I'm sure there's none as good as already posted. Thanks Viperchick12 and Vipercrazed. YA'LL :headbang:

Ah, I forgot about that. Should be REALLY fun now. I've had to work corners at that track a few times and there was always one turn in particular that everyone broke the rear end loose and went off into the grass.

.............and of course they had to knock over the dang cone and I had to go fix it.

The AL/TN Region has been sponsoring an annual event in June since 2003. I would personally like to thank those who provided items for the attendees.

First of all.........Crown Motors for use of their space and the tee shirts.
Meguiar's.........The gifts of detailer and leather wipes.
Jon B...............Prizes at dinner

The pictures are great. Thansk to all..............

Don
