As many of you know, aluminum flywheels offer two distinct advantages when used to replace steel flywheels. Advantage #1; the engine is able to accelerate faster because of the reduced rotating mass and mass centerline. Advantage #2; the engine rotating assembly (crank, rods, bearings, etc.) all last a little bit longer because they are under less load.
