I read all about how Vinyl stripes are cheaper, easier to fix a section, removeable, etc...

BUT, has anyone had the vinyl stripes and removed them completely from their car, after any significant time in service (summer baking)?

Not only am I curious as to how easily they came off, but wouldn't the paint beneath the stripes have a slightly different color (sun fade esp on dark cars) and obviously wouldn't have any fine scratches. Are you be able to see stripe "ghosts" in the paint, due to fine scratches/swirl marks on each side of the stripe and perhaps a slightly different paint color?

I can't speak for everyone, but in my case, I bought the car used
and when I got it, it did not have stripes on it.... but during
my research to find out the history of the car, I found out that
it had been striped once before. You could not tell by looking
at the car when I bought it. I found the person who originally
striped the car and he gave me pictures of it. They were Daytona
Stripes. Stripes stoped at the end of the hood.... We elected
to put the present stripes on the car. These are full wrap stripes
that go all the way around, front and back.

I think the way to take the stripes off is to have someone do it
for you and have them power buff the finish after the stripes are
removed and re waxed. Thats how they took the first set off.
