Since my snake never sees snow and i don't take her out in temperatures below freezing, I use Mobil 1 15W-50. You can get a gallon jug at Walmart for $23.

I have always used factory fills in our Vipers...BUT, as some of those oils have been "dumbed down"...and, to simplify logistics at my house...all Vipers have/will get Mobil 1's 0W-40 from now on. I have arranged a "deal" with a local distributor to discount this particular oil to VCA (and PCA) Members in our area. Prices are creeping up now, but at my last purchase time, one quart of Mobil 1's 0W-40 cost between $0.75 and $4.50 LESS than the price at Walmart, 3 national autopart chain stores, and dealership parts departments. I can also purchase as much as I want with a (minimum of 6 quarts)...plus no waiting or coupon clipping. Works for ME !!! :)

Our local Walmarts are stocking far fewer 5 quart jugs...AND, last week the price was $26.00 per 5 quart jug of Mobil 1's 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30, and 15W-50.

If you have a "Farm and Fleet" near you, it might be worth the trip. They often have sales on oil there. And since ya asked, I use Mobil 1 0W-40 on my '96.

Always use Mobil One 15W50, and usually buy it at Wal Mart in Lake City,Fl. Hard to find in my area.

"Isn't the Mobil 1 0W-40 the diesel?"...NO, it is the European Car Formula used as factory fill on 2005-2010 Vipers (also Porsches, Mercedes, etc).

A look at the Zinc and Phosphorus levels in ****** oil samples seen in the following link will show you a couple of good reasons why folks prefer Mobil 1's 0W-40 or 15W-50 over several other "automobile" products such as their 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30 for our Vipers.

No problem...it would have been nice if NAPA had their Gold filters on sale too, but no such luck.

My NAPA also carries the ShelllRotella T6 (5w40) which is one of the oils that goes in my snake based on the recommendation from our fluids guru Tom.

Costco always has a Mobil 1 deal in their stores it seems but they only carry 10w30. i've been using Mobil1 15w50 per Greg Goods' recommendation. My local Walmart always has the 5 qt jugs in stock at a great price.

So that implies that the NAPA deal of $5.79/qt can really work out to $3.39/qt with the rebate? It's funny, I just went onto
Mobil 1's web site and saw this: "NAPA (some exclusions apply)". Wondering if they are factoring in the NAPA sale on this rebate.
Would sure be nice if it worked out to $3.39/qt - time to stock up the back of the garage for sure.

I'm looking at the rebate form and it excludes walmart, costco, sam's, autozone, advance auto, o'reilly and pep boys. No mention of Napa.

JUst picked up 2 cases at Napa. :headbang: $5.79/qt.
Rebate form available at store oil was purchased from. If oil was on sale, like at Napa, they don't have the rebate form because discount was given at time of purchase. Note:(exclusions apply).

As I had suspected. $3.39/qt would have been a stretch to believe.

I stocked up with the $12 rebate last year. Will be using it again once I confirm the store has it on sale. It worked out to $4/quart last year buying it from Blain's Farm and Fleet.

It's funny you should mention Farm & Fleet. The weekly ad that came out yesterday has MOBIL 1 for $3.59 a qt after rebate. I am going to buy more.
