Yup, that's an automatic. In one of the engine shots you can see the trans dipstick. Also, I don't see a clutch pedal.

Saw that. Not a factory job most likely. I know of one or two companies from a while back that have made a few Vipers automatic. I recall a silver RT being done a while back.

Why would you willingly make that car in automatic? It comes in stick for many reasons...one being so people who cant drive stick cant drive this car.

I love my car. If for any reason I became disabled I would have it converted before I sold it. But I guess diferently abled people shouldn't drive Vipers.

is that from the factory??

I cant recall Dodge ever making an auto Viper straight from the factory. I've been a Viper nut since 92', and all I have heard of is aftermarket auto conversions for the track or disabled. My last gf wanted me to teach her how to drive a stick shift on my Viper :nono: , I think I'll just email her the link to this auction instead :bonker:

As ridiculous as that thing is, it sure would be nice in rush-hour traffic.

I don't really care what Dodge does for the Gen4's. They would have a hard time getting me to switch.

I emailed the guy from the auction. He told be that they sent it directly to Allison to have the conversion done. He didnt respond to me when I asked him why.

It does have cruise though as the auction states. He did not know where that came from though.

Sorry, no viper has ever come with automatic from the factory. Put that one to bed.

Next, I think its a LOT easier now to make these cars autos, since the srt10 truck now has an auto option. Least now we have a tranny that will bolt right up. Now all that is needed is tunnel expander, to get it into our tranny tunnel.

and no, there is not such thing as an expander ;-) (sheetmetal has to be cut and possible frame adjustments, but thats the easy part).
