Battery Question

Im am going through batteries fast. I have tried everything including high dollar gel batteries. I have 2 bottle warmers for a complete nitrous set up, shift light, fuel system, massive stereo system, that is draing the batteries dead every 6 months. What is the cold cranking amps on the viper, and what battery is good.

I suspect a higher output alternator would help. The Optima is very good if it fits. And that is a big if! Good luck.

Take a look at http://optimabatteries.com and it will list the dealers near you.

I bought some "deep cycle versions" (not for my Viper though), which may work well for your stereo rig for about $145 each. Regular Car batteries are a little less. A dealer may help with a case size that fits!

I tried the optima and it lasted 6 months. I might have something draining the battery.

You might want to try an old drag racing trick with your battery cables, and add a battery kill switch in the trunk. You can shut down the battery when you park the car in your garage. It will not let you use the alarm system though, as all battery power will be gone, but your battery should last longer. Another thing, do you drive in 5th or 6th gear at all? If you do, you are not charging the battery enough, unless you go on longer trips. Just a thought. You also may want to add a trickle charger and plug it in whenever the car is in the garage, then you can leave the alarm on if you want to, or just let it keep the battery charged up all the time. Some can mount permanently next to the battery. Hope you solve the problem, sounds like you are keeping Optima in business!
