MSRP $11.20
Lol, nice, my local dealer quoted me $14.xx (not that I care about $3, but it's the fact that they are gouging). That's the second time they've overpriced the MSRP on a part. I talked to you once about them about a year ago...I hate that place!

Anything wrong with using a Mobile 1 Oil Filter (M1204) over the MOPAR one?[/quote]

No. Mopar just badges stuff built by others. Low Bidders. Mopar Mobil Filters are made in Poland, and are lighter-weight than USA-Made Mobil One filters. You can FEEL the difference.

PartsRack has M1204 3-packs, $30/3 filters

PartsRack has Mopar SRT filters $30/3 filters

Jon, Jon, Jon. "Mopar just badges stuff built by others." What are you trying to imply??? That Mopar filters are inherently poor because Mopar does not manufacture them? I guess I never even considered that since Mopar is the service parts trade name and is not a manufacturer per se of anything. Are you trying to imply that they get the low bidder on products, specifications be damned? If so that would be speculative on your part (and wrong). And I was not aware that there was such a thing as a Mopar Mobil oil filter. I did not even know Mobil was in the business of making filters (they are not - they are made to specification from another manufacturer).

So is the test of an oil filter the weight? Not the filtering capability, not the flow capability, not the bypass operation, not anti-drainback design, etc. etc.

As been stated elsewhere the new Mopar filters have been tested and proven to be the most effective for our engines and their oil flow characteristics. That was stated here on this forum by the engineer who did the testing and indicated how the others performed.

And I believe you know all of the above. So I am wondering if your post was made tongue in cheek or what was intended. Because it sure would confuse a layperson for sure.
