best way to lower a Viper?

I have a '96 rt/10 with stock 17" wheels and tires. I was looking to lower it just because the gap between the tire and fender well is huge. I don't want to compromise the ride if I don't have to. So what is the best way to do this and how expensive is it to do it? And how low do you go? Thanks in advance.

If not, Northwind Engineering sells a ride height adjuster $250 each.
