2 hour race final race of the series in the sunshine with driver change over, refuelling and new tyres , lots of excitment with some close racing, a couple of trips out for the pace car, a fire in the pits off the fuel line i think, and a car on fire at the end of the pit lane. x5 comp coupes this time which was fab to see

Brookspeed won the series overall this year in the white CC :)

You know, that is about the best racing series going on. I wish it were televised somewhere over here or that there was something similar around here. Call me crazy, but when watching the ALMS I would prefer it if it were just the GT2 class racing.

great pics! Thanks. I had read the race report already but nice to see some pics!

These are some great pictures from the race. Now I have to go look up Jon Barnes and James Gorman.:)

Really cool pictures Neil. Thanks for sharing.

Mele made a good point. They televise a sort of similar event here called American Lemans. Then they focus on the prototypes catagory such that the masses can't relate to it too much.

It's another typical north american "fun-killer" conspiricy to dicourage the general public from behaving certain ways. Probably the same reason they turned Stock Car racing into the circus that it is. Nobody can relate his car with what's being raced. There is no information about motor sizes, what powerplant is under the hood, or purse amounts like back in the sixties.

It was refreshing to see that lost spirit of fun and freedom is still alive and well on a recent trip to Europe.

we get a x1 round of the lemans series, a different series to yours which is actual cars from the Lemans 24 in France race, lots of prototypes by the big manufacturers, also a round of the FIA GT which is like the cars in the Brit GT, but with bigger teams and money again they travel all over europe with this series

the Brit GT is mainly held in the UK on tracks you would never know existed, with the occassional race in europe like Spa, its a pretty good series lots of different marques and has been good for the Viper over the years (Its televised here) last years overall winners were the RPM team they run x3 CC's and had the youngest pairing of drivers to ever win the series, their average age i recall was about 23 !! the race pics below were at 'Donington' which is replacing Silverstone after 2010 in F1, which is a much more difficult circuit than Silverstone.
