I have never installed a car stereo system in my life. I was thinking about getting the Kenwood Excelon KVT-817DVD DVD/CD player with 7" video screen:

Will this fit a 2001 RT/10? It is single-DIN, so I assume this is a standard size, but I know very little about this stuff.

I read somewhere they you simply pop off the factory Alpine stereo, connect the wiring harness to your new head-unit and then stick it in. It can't possibly be that simple. I stared at my Alpine stereo, with flat-head screwdrive in hand and had no idea how to pop it off without scratching it. :bonker: I'm dangerous!

I'm thinking about having Extreme Vehicle Builders install it since they aren't too far away in Brewster, NY. But if you think I can DIY (do it yourself), send me some pointers.

Also, anyone know if you can disable the DVD safety feature on the Kenwood KVT-817DVD so it plays while the car is moving? Where/website do I go to find these "hacks"?
