Charity event. questions, participation ? VCA ?

In Mount Vernon, NY, there is an annual Grand Prix to benifit a charity, I don't remember which one. They close down some streets and run this event which gets big publicity and does very well. I would like to organize sucha thing in my neighborhood to benifit the building of a new Church in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
1. Anyone have any experience in something like this?
2. I know we will need a main sponsor. VCA / Dodge ? Would Chuck Tator want to join in?
3. Being a very local event, there is another Dodge Dealer only blocks away that I would HAVE to approach also. They are part of the community.
4. Where could I get or who could I approach to get Mini- grand prix cars ?

Any help would help....this is only a thought amongst neighbors and just a begining step.

By the way, this would not be happening till the spring....lots of planing. No reason why it could not also turn into a big car show similar to what we did with the new England region in the summer.
