Chrome centercaps on ebay

There are chrome (plastic) centercaps for sale on ebay, when did they make plastic centercaps?

The 17" centercaps are not plastic and are not chrome. Maybe the seller doesn't know what they are talking about. How much are they asking for them?

Dodge made these caps in cast and plastic.

My -93 has cast caps and the -96 wheels caps I have are in plastic.
Some companies do offer cromeplating on plastic, so these are propably "cromed". I was told that the crome is some sort of vacuum application, since plastic does not conduct electricity and cannot be cromed in normal manner.

My '96 GTS wheels have cast center caps.

It is my understanding that if you got '96 painted (RT/10) wheels, the caps were plastic.

You need to talk to Bill at Apex. He has these very high quality billet aluminum center caps that are a piece of art. The cheap plastic factory caps really bugged me.
