I had my ipod player plugged into it and the cap on the end of it came off, and now my port doesn't work anymore. I checked the fuse in the panel and it's fine. Nothing looks burnt etc. Any idea what to check next?

Had same happen a couple of times with an old radar detector...fuse was always the problem. You might try a new fuse, as visual inspection alone can occasionally be misleading. Be sure that your fuses are correctly labeled. After that, check terminals, possibly trace wires.

There are two fuses... one says cig lighter, and the other says power outlet... check both.

Yea I ended up figuring that out on my own. I forgot about the cig lighter in the lidded console. Went for a drive and put my wallet in there and was like hmmmm, I bet those are on a different circuit.
