Prospective Comp Coupe Grand Am racers,

Despite our best efforts in trying to homologate the Viper Competition Coupe for the Grand Am Rolex Series, the car is not yet legal to race for next year. Dodge Motorsports and Grand Am have worked diligently in an attempt to ensure that Comp Coupe race teams are able to compete on an equal level with already established race cars in the series. This is difficult to do, since the Rolex Series production based classes and cars are undergoing major changes for the 2004 season. (GTS class is eliminated, GT class performance level is changed, SGS class moves into Rolex from Grand Am Cup).

Both Dodge Motorsports and Grand Am are optimistic that the Competition Coupe will be able to race in the future. Comparisons between that 2004 spec Grand Am GT cars and the Competition Coupe should highlight any changes that need to be made or add confidence that the car fits in, as raced, in other series.

If you are interested in running a Comp Coupe in Grand Am in the future, below is the appropriate person to contact:

The Viper Competition Coupe is eligible in Speed World Challenge and Viper Racing League. Dodge Motorsports will be offering significant prize money for both of these series.

Wow that sounds excellent for the Comp Coupe owners!!!! Dang, they way they are wrinkling up sheetmetal/carbon fiber now. I would have thought they were running already for serious prize money.
