Confirmation of Texas front tag law.

Can anyone confirm that as of 9-1 you know longer have to use a front tag in Texas? I am not running one on the Viper, but have plans for my other front bumpers

November 1, 2005 it goes into effect:

The bill passed the house, was amended in the senate, sent back to the house (which rejected the amendments) and finally pushed back to the senate. If the senate approved the bill with more than 2/3rds majority it would have gone into effect immediately, however, since it didn't the bill will go into effect November 1st.

I've also had three different state troopers verify that this bill has passed and will go into effect November 1st.

When we purchased our Viper and Ram SRT/10 a few weeks ago the dealership said they are not required anymore and only put the back one on... I wouldn't use it as an arguement with a police officer but I don't think the dealership would have done so otherwise.

I have searched the State website a couple of times & come up empty handed for the disposition of the named bill.
