where/how does the soft top store when lowered ?

It folds rigHt back toward the trunk and locks in. Then if you have the boot, you cover up the top. Thats it...

Raise trunk lid, release front catch on the windshield, and fold back. Some goes under the lid, most stays exposed, hence the boot cover.

That boot cover makes all the difference in that it really cleans up and finishes the look. Very small and easy to store in trunk as well.
