Hey guys

Earlier this wk my car got pretty much totaled. I've talked to couple of you guys about the problem which is: As I was accelarating in 1st gear all was ok rt before I shifted to 2nd, when the rear wheels acted funny and when I shifted, the car just let go and completely went out of control and started spinning around until the friendly curb brought everything to a stop. As I have talked to couple of the VCA members they have said that 03 models had weak pins which is better in the 04 model but the gear is weak and when I shifted the gear, it just grenaded. Has anybody else experienced this or know of this problem? I'm getting my own independent mechanic to evaluate the car this wk. Thanks in advance for your advise and help. Hooman

How many RPMS were you pulling before you shifted? Did the Transmission shift into second?

Yes - this also happened to my car - there is a weak pin which needs to be upgraded - call Heffner Performance they can help.

And there is more to Ken's story (and very similar circumstances):

This will give you some more insight into possible issues (don't know if this is still a problem or not):

More:

Maybe a factor/symptom?

And one more for the road (also amusing as Daniel disses the SRT pretty good - and now owns one...) :2tu:

Does anyone know if this problem was corrected on the '05 SRT's?

This kind of makes you wonder if there should be a safety recall of some sort. I surely do not want a broken differential to send my car into a spin at an inopportune time.

There certainly seems to be enough of us out there w/ this problem for DC to consdier a recall. I'm really curious to see what they'll turn up on my car this wk. Hooman
