I have a cost catalog that only goes to 1998. Muffler & converter right and left side: $620.00 Pipe & Resonator both sides $610.00 Muffler $660.00. That is not even $2000.00. Has the cost of this system gone up that much in a few years. Very strange.

He is just selling the rear muffler and pipes back from the cats, the cats are not included, don't the bidders names and all with 0 bids seem strange too?

Jeez... for $3K someone can have my muffler and resonators... :)

If I had know they were worth that much I would have had the muffler shop that cut them out take beter care.

I noticed it also. It looks like the person may have out-bid himself with all of the alias(sunglasses and no feedback) names that appear in the bid history.

This is nothing new and is a real problem on eBay. Watch all the crazy car-related domain names up for sale and all the shill bidding. Cr*p like buyaferrarinow.biz going for $18,500 or stuff like Buyalamborghini4less.com for $10,000. Same bidding patterns, too: lots of 0 feedback profiles. I should know: I own a bunch of Mercedes Maybach domains (good ones, too) and can't sell them for the life of me.

I think the problem is that they posted it not under accessories, but under "cars for sale". Thus the high bidder could legitimately claim they were misled. It even mentions a 10-cylinder, 2-doors, etc. in the profile. Hey, not all bidders are rocket scientists, neither are all the sellers...

I sent the high bidder an e-mail and ask him why he was paying so much for an incomplete Vipe exhaust system. I will keep you posted about his reply. If that is just a joke, it is an expensive one. E-bay not only charges a listing fee but a final value fee and that final value fee is well over $100.00.

Prodiver, MagicBoy2, I also did the same. Hate to see someone get ripped off. I also notified ebay to check this out and they sent me this:
Hello,

Thank you for alerting us to this situation.

I understand your concern about shill bidding on our site. Since eBay
does take complaints like yours very seriously, I hope that you
understand our need for conclusive evidence linking members before we
can take action. With that in mind, in accordance with our site
policies, I have found that there is not enough evidence to show that
this bidder is connected to any of these sellers. However, I understand

your concern about this situation, and can reopen the investigation if
any additional information can be provided.

Thank you for helping to keep eBay a safe and fair place to trade.

Regards,

Kalten
