Driver\'s Seat Disassembly Advice?

I'm going to get the driver's seat side bolster repaired/reupholstered. I've removed the seat from the car. Easy stuff. Now I want to separate the top of the seat from the bottom. Not so easy stuff. I've disconnected the two main side "star" bolts with a T45 socket. However, on one side there is the spring mechanism for the incline/decline. Anyone know the path of least resistance to disassemble the spring and separate the top from bottom? It's a Gen 2 seat, BTW. I suppose I could contact SnakeHydes. Obviously he'd know, but he's tough to get a hold of...Anyone? Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS! :usa:

There is a retaining pin that still holds the seat and seatback together after you remove the bolts. I watched the dealer take mine apart to replace the seatback under warranty.

Re: Driver\'s Seat Disassembly Advice?

Thanks guys. ViperJohn, I had seen the retaining pin, but my concern was that it was under tension from the reclining spring. PITA to remove, but sure enough that did it. Good to go. :nana:
