Dumb question

On a gen 2 RT-10 how do you turn on the dome (mirror) lights with out opening the door?

Don't you just turn the headlight switch?

No, turning the headlight switch turn on the parking/headlights, pulling it turns on the fog lights.

there should be buttons on the under side of the mirror, 1 on each side of the night flip switch thingy, next to the lights

When the door is open those switches turn off the dome lights.
But when the door is close they don't do anything?

mine turn the lights on and off anytime (though i have not tried to turn off the light with the door open),

just now, my window was open and i reached in, door closed, no key and turned the lights on and off

the switch stays hot so you should be able to turn the lights on and off without the key

what year is your rt?

The interior lights were the first thing to go on mine
before the door stopped opening.
The wiring harness in the door jam is notorious for broken
wires and I would bet that is your problem.

Same thing in my 02 GTS, the dome lights would work with the passenger side door open but not the driver side door open, found several broken wires inside the rubber sleeve on the drivers door, good luck. Jeff

Rolled the widows down last night and when I put the drivers side button the light comes on but nothing with the passenger side.
