Lleone/JonB - thanks for the input I'll check it out.

JonB - sorry if my heading offended you, won't happen again. I was just upset that I'm having problems with my car so soon. Even
though my car has 13K on it, I've only owned it for 3K.

Regards,
Mark

Mark-
Come by our shop tomorrow and we would be happy to look at what is causing the light. We can plug in our scanner and take a look. It may be something very simple.

Give us a call at 408.562.1000
Hope to see you soon.

I was driving my Viper around this weekend - babying it as
usual - and noticed that the "Check Engine" light came on. My
car only has 13K miles on it and I'm not expecting anything
like this to happen so soon! I did a search on this and found
that it usually happens when the fuel/air mixture gets out of
wack. My plan is not to drive it until I can get it over to the
dealer and have him look at it.

Has this happened to anyone else and is there a way to determine
what caused the engine light to come on?

Thanks for your support!

This could be VERY simple: CHECK THE GAS CAP.

A loose cap can throw the lite. Tighten it, and in a few run-cycles it will go off.

Lots of simple things ---charcoal cannister, O-2 sensor, etc can easily and quickly can be "read" at any Dodge dealer, but preferably one with a Viper Tech.

p.s. Why place hidden profanity in your heading? (***) Just ask your question, and don't risk being offensive, please. Thank you.

Wayne,
Thanks for the offer but I just dropped it off at the
dealer (Stevens Creek Dodge). It was time for an oil
change and I wanted to get the recall done (enforcement
of the steering rack mounting brackets).
As soon as I get some extra $$$, I'm going to have you
do the exhaust mods we talked about.

Thanks everyone for all of your support!
