Fuel Pressure Question.

I may have already answered my own question but I want a consensus opinion.


I noticed yesterday that my inline fuel pressure gauge (mounted at the inlet to the passenger side fuel rail) was reading 80 psi. I just installed a Walbro 400 and utilized the factory fuel pressure regulator.

I think that the pump is overrunning the fpr. Does that sound feasible? So far the advice I have gotten is 'get a new gauge', but it is a brand new Aeromotive fluid filled gauge, so I would think it would be reliable. I have an old gauge somewhere that I will swap in and see if it reads the same. If it does, then I am looking at an external fpr.


Thoughts?


Anybody running an external fpr they like? I am not interested in having to run a return, but I will if I have to. Looking at this unit...

How did you tie in the factory regulator??

I modified the OE fuel pump hanger and kept the FPR in the stock location. I have some pics that I intend on posting as soon as I get my garage organized after the install.

On another note, I solved my fuel pressure problem. What's wrong with this picture?

Ah yes - a lively zero reading of 27psi.
Didn't someone recommend a new gauge...
