Our Vipers are old-school, bad a@@ machines with few cockpit gizmos and we all appreciate this.

So one gizmo we do not have is a programmable garage door remote in the Visor or elsewhere.

Has anyone found a small aftermarket remote that can "learn" the clunky garage door remote signal? I would much rather have a sleek, small piece in the center console.

Thanks!

I took my Genie remote apart, and wired in a small "touch" swith and mounted the remote under the dash on the drivers side, and mounted the switch on the underside of the dash on the level area just inside the left "edge" about 2". I just have to reach down and push the little red button and the door opens......no fumbling for the remote, no remote in the center console or on a visor. Got the switch at Radio Shack about 5 years ago in a pack of 3, and remembered it in my tool box, and just wired it up.

Thanks for the great ideas!

It is apparent that I must determine the make and model of my garage door opener and proceed from there. :)
