Rich Detert
Viper Owner
On Saturday December 8th, 2001the Gateway Viper Club held it's annual Christmas party at Steve and Lynn Wedel's house. The weather which had been unseasonably warm had started cooling down (rather rapidly), but at least it wasn't raining or snowing. It did mean that there were only 2 pics taken by Steve of the members and Santa with our new Gateway VCA banner. No one wanted to stay out in the cold for more pics.
Of course Santa and one of his Elves made a special trip to be there in attendance. After a little coaxing Santa convinced several of the women to sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. The theme of the requests seemed to be carats, as in Diamonds (usually 2+carats). Santa told them if they were they were the right combination of Naughty and Nice their chances were better at getting what they wished for.
After that Santa left to return to the North Pole (He may be in trouble with Mrs. Claus if she sees these pics).
Next was the clubs annual auction with the proceeds going to the Gateway VCA. The auction consisted of lots of great Viper and Dodge memorabilia donated by sponsors (BTR Viper/Tom Welch, Roanoke Motor Co./John Gastman to name a few) and club members.
The next order of business was most of the party attendees going out to dinner, which I was unable to attend.
