My wife and I had a chance to go on a very special tour yesterday, we got to see the inner workings of PVO first hand, and what a place it is! If you did not know exactly where it is, you would probably drive right by it. It is not far from Chrylser headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI, but again, it does not stand out from the surroundings much. However, once you round the corner into the parking lot, you start to see a few things that begin to give it away, like Vipers all over the place, and some of the new Neon SRT-4's, and previously secret prototypes, to mention a few of them, along with the new V-10 pickup.
The Comp Coupe that ran in the Viper vs Viper shootout is there, the One Lap of America Viper was there, the new Neon SRT4 One Lap of America was there, it finished first in it's class and 13th overall, not bad for a four ******. It also cleaned Subaru's clock so bad, you can bet that they will be back with a vengence next year, but so will the PVO team, by then the Stage II will be ready, and the horsepower on that one is still classified.
There were Vipers in various stages of study being tested for accelerated aging, engine testing, suspension testing, computers everywhere, and all sorts of other testing being done. What a job these guys have, it is like going to heaven!
The guys at PVO are improving the breed all the time, Vipers, Neons, pickups, etc, racing improves the breed. I was totally impressed with what they are doing to make the Viper even better, and you can bet there are things going on there that will keep the Viper at the front of the class. Keep up the good work PVO, and thanks for all your efforts. What a place to work at!

If you ever get an invitation to visit PVO, don't miss the opportunity, however, do not bring a camera! No Pictures allowed, but it is an awesome experience just to be there in person. The two hours we were there went by so fast. Wouldn't you just love to work there? They has some places there that we were not allowed to go to, even some of the things they were working on in the garage area were covered with a tarp, etc, to keep curious eyes away from seeing something you were not supposed to see.
