Well I think so... Hmmm srt user page 94... Fog lights page 20... Let's go to page 20.., WHAT?!! No where not a peep dimmer, ambient control, parking, auto but No fog lights!

So do we have fog lights? How to operate? Just think this is an english American users manual. Thanks much.

Personally, I never understood why sports cars would need fog lights anyways....not like we drive them in the fog :lmao: Much better to have brake cooling ducts there or something for the aerodynamics.

We get mixed weather in Europe, Extra driving lights are good for early morning hoons when low mist is still clearing, and one tends to be driving slightly over the speed limit ;)

The GTS-R has fog lights so why not put them on the regular coupe. I started a similar topic on this a while back on 6/2/12 ( Gen. V forum / " Fog Lights!!...Anyone?!? " ).

I know that sometime probably in the near future, Mopar will be making some aftermarket fog lights for the Gen. V. Maybe it's me...but I just think that fog lights should come standard on a 120K car....

The fog lights have an interesting history. An early styling rendition had them located as on the current GTS-R but Sergio stopped that approach. Later styling renditions had LED fog lamps where the present air intakes are located. In Liang's book you can see some pictures of a styling model with them showing - pg 43 & 44 - for example - it's the car shown at Salt Lake City and to the Chrysler board. Cost is said to have killed that approach. Somewhere I read that the present LEDs surrounding the head lights are supposed to function as the fog lamps? :dunno:

I thought the original point of fog lights was to give drivers a lighting option since normal headlights tend to reflect off dense fog and don't help you see. Fogs were usually mounted low, or at least angled downwards, to cut down on reflections and provide useful illumination. They'd also help oncoming traffic see you.

Sergio was wrong. Ralph should have provided the appropriate American perspective and convinced him otherwise. I'm keeping my GEN II GTS with fogs and 675 HP. I don't need no stickin' computer nannies, Ferrari interior or $10K paint job for the "grey poopon" demographic. Should have stuck with the original rude, crude, shake, rattle and roll SNAKE. In America today, we are continually screwing "originals" up making them "better", "healthier" obamacare, "safer" NSA spying against the 4th Amendment, "safer" taking away the 2nd Admendment, "less sovereign debt" by taking out more debt...too funny, etc., etc..

I'm american and that's not my perspective, plus I think grey poupon is a very tasty mustard. SRT wants to sell cars and appeal to a broader audience...there is nothing more American than free market capitalism. They didn't water down the Viper by making it nicer and giving people the option to get a $15K paint job that looks better than anything you'll ever see anywhere. Think of the new Viper like a redneck in a tuxedo - he maybe dressed nice but he'll still be acting rude and crude in public just like always.

Well stated.

Had to use my fog lights on my GTS Saturday morning, a bright sunny day but the road narrowed slightly and entered a dark deep wooded area which ment headlights were needed, the edges of the road were also hard to see so pulled the fogs on and this helped me avoid the rutts on the edge of the road.

So even when not in Fog they are a handy thing to have ;)

love the new Viper, but fogs should be an option. There are practical reasons that others have stated for having them.
