Help.....up on jack stand, have brake question

What do I need to "loosen" the calipers on the front brakes. Have the pins out need to replace pads. Seems like I need an allen wrench....anyone know what size to loosen caliper. Or can I use something else....or do I even need to?

I don't remember doing any more than taking the pin out. You may have to tap the pads to break them loose, especially if you are replacing the original brakes.
