Just wondering if this would be a good combination. I remember reading that too much decrease in backpressure is a bad thing. Would this set-up cause any foreseable problems for my 2000 gts? Pros/cons?

Oh yes, my main goal is for the improved sound. Any hp gains will just be a bonus. At some point I hope to be able to afford the headers and cat back system, but for now this is all I think I can manage.

Thanks!
Brian

I am quite confident that good, truly hi-flow cats and straight pipes would make your spouse and your neigbors crazy. Maybe you, too.

Since you say "sound is the motive" there are some inexpensive solutions.

Muffler delete. E-me for info or see VCA Notes
Snake-Oyl rear subsection (PartsRack a Proud distributor!)
Muffler options, right up to full cat-back systems

Thanks Jon! I have heard good things about the snake oyl products. I am planning on giving you a buzz at parts rack tomorrow to discuss options. Time to put a voice behind the answers to so many of my questions
