Hood pad fasteners --Dealer item only???

Anyone know if hoodpad fastners for 97 GTS are a dealer only item!? I'd hate to spend huge dollars at the dealer if I can get some generic fastners elsewhere that will work for a cheaper cost!?

Most auto parts stores also carry these in small packs as well . Body-Tite #45501 and Wee Pak #99-1224 are a couple of the common ones in my area.

I just picked up a pack of 15 at Auto Zone for 2.99. They are round buttons rather than the wing type. The dealer wanted 3.25 each for the OEM ones and it takes 18.

I picked some up at Pep Boys 3/$1.69. They were listed for early 70's chrysler hood pad clips (exact same clip as my 99' Viper

go to any body shop they shold have them in stock for less then $.05 a piece

After going to 1/2 dozen or so body shops around St. Louis I decided to replace mine with the round head ones. Much cheaper than the $2.50 per clip that the dealer wanted and much easier to find. They work great and look good on my hood pad.
