i agree with ya jon. Stock is Stock. No K&N's no cat back systems, no short shifters, ect....I laugh all the time at the people who say that their car is stock after they tell ya everything that has been done to it.

K&N's were stock on ACR's, so if you put them on a regular GenII, is that stock ;)

Does putting on an MGW knob throw me out of stock class as well ;) ?

Gears or tires shouldn't make it non stock.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!Vette mentality.... I agree on the tire statement as long as they are street legal. But gears make it.. drumroll please........ NOT STOCK!

Mine was ordered with catback, and roller rockers plus it is ACR; smooth tubes and K&N's. It is not stock because Catback and Roller Rockers are accesories same as gears. As long as the tires are DOT they are fine with me because the are normal wear items. Same as brake pads. Everyone needs to read the rules, there is no changing the rules after you start. The only other thing that may be wrong is if the rules are not specific enough.

If a car is stock running on ET Streets, does that not make it stock? Assuming that everthing _else_ is exactly as it was from the factory?

What about if 19" rims are put on instead of 18"... is it now non-stock?

I once tested a bone stock GTS/ 1996 that made 440rwhp with only K&N filters. The next car same mods and mileage made 414rwhp.

Wow, this really follows the point of the post right? No one said anything about people being able to do kick *** times, or have stronger motors, just what constitutes stock. Wow, your like Adam and Me hijacking each others posts. ;-)

Ok,
If you are talking "bone stock",
then I guess everything must be same as factory.

That being the case, I would not allow any tires that are not reasonable replacements for factory tires.

In other words, no change in compound, tires can't be super soft, like Kouhmo.
No thin tread pattern, like Kouhmo.

A bone stock car should have street tires as delivered or a close replacement.

What I thought stock meant was the drive train or any engine related parts.

Tires I guess would not a big issue or even if you had another stock tanny in place. But I'm not a lawyer. LOL!

How do you go about checking the stockness of a car anyway?

Exhaust mods would be obvious.

Would any serious engine mod be obvious?

The gears? I guess someone could drive the car or jack it up and count the wheel/driveshaft ratio. Does anyone do that?

If a guy could run any DOT tire, could he run skinny tires on the front?

Does the shifter have to be stock? Can you tell if it is?

Bigger ratio rockers and valve springs? Who would be able to tell?

The fuel? What can be in the tank? How do you know?

NASCAR says that they run "stock" cars............. I guess that's where the idiots get their definition.

My question is does a greddy sticker count caus they make the car faster!
