I was very close to buying a Z06 instead of my GTS. Basically, the dealer of the Z06 was trying to rip me off, so I bought the GTS. I don't regret it for a moment.

say bye to thumbs up from people on the road, say bye to phone numbers from anonymous women, say bye to respect from other drivers...the z06 is fun however, but is just a big a pain as the viper for everyday driving, whats the difference?

I wish I got to drive my Viper 100 to work every day! The drive to work never lasts as long as I want.

At times it can be that much. My normal commute is relatively short but my district goes from the southern border of PA up to NY. I can put a lot of miles on a car in a day.

I bet that dealer had a smile from ear to ear on him when he got that viper.

I really REALLY REALLY hope for got a decent trade in on it like for instance he gave you the vette and like 15k for your viper lol

Congratulations! I wish I had done the same thing, I looked at them last year and decided to wait and look at the 2004 model, but unfortunately I just blew the motor in my 97 GTS so buying a new car is not in the works this year. If I had it to do over again I would have never brought the Viper and instead stuck with the Corvette. I have owned many Corvette's over the years and they have always run and handle great. Good Luck with your new purchase hope you enjoy it.

It's too bad you blew your motor. It doesn't cost that much to fix a blown motor 5/6k usually is the most you will have to spend. Hein-sight is always 20/20. Keep your head up you still have one of the baddest rides around.

Big Big difference, you have an '02 and probably know the complete history of the car. I had a Gen 1 that I basically knew nothing about, that had relatively high miles for a Viper. I'm sure if I had your car, my feelings would've been completely different.

I had a 99 FRC, sold it after driving my friends z06 and put a 2003 Z06 on order, bought a 97 RT/10 to play with until my Z06 came in. After driving the RT/10 for a month I cancelled my Z06 order, sold the RT/10 and bought my ACR.

Nothing looks as hot coming or going down the road as a Viper. Vettes are very nice cars but you will miss the torque terrible badly!!!

I put twice as many miles on my 01 Z06 then I do on my 99 GTS. The Corvette is my daily commuter, rain or shine, and the Viper is my 'toy'. I can see why you decided on the Vette for 'regular' use. The 04's are improved over my 01 and the prices are excellent.

I bet a gen II viper would be the answer for you. It has all of the pracitcality of a corvette. I drive mine all of the time.
