Insulation of heater/AC air intake?

With this plastic box sitting under the hood next to the engine it would make sense that it be insulated. Has anyone done a mod to accomplish that?

Yes.I used Thermotec.Comes in a sheet.Sticky on one side.Cut to fit.Foil out side and some fg insulation in between.Tends to lift at the edges.Hold down with a dab of 3M super weatherstrip adhesive.I have headers/no shields.The inside of that box would get so hot you couldn't touch it.Now only warm to the touch inside.
