I went to the dyno in the rain today and had my set up dynoed for the first time.

***The conditions were the following.
***Wet out side/ tires wet /some slippage on the dyno
***About 55 degrees outside
***Major belt slippage from pulley
***No blower or fan in front of the car to move air.
***6-8 PSI loss from belt slippage

I found out that my Riechard Racing Pulley was slipping and eating my belts up. I had chunks of belt coming off..I'm not saying his pullies are bad...it just didn't work for me. On a typical pulley of my size, I would be at impeller speeds at about 55,000 rpms...which should equate to around 14-16 psi. With the slippage, I only saw 8.2 PSI

I still need to adjust my fuel map, but overall I was running 11.4-11.8 little lean, but not too bad. It dipped down to mid 10's at times, but that can all be adjusted at a later time when I get more time to mess with it. I had about 6-7 degrees of timing being taken out just to be safe on the first dyno runs.

I got 740 RWHP/ 728 RWTQ with my set up and I have plenty more to go after when the belt slippage issue is taken care of. (should gain 6-8 psi more) It's not what I wanted for right now, but with the conditions I had it's not too bad for a start.

I want to thank DLM for advice and the time Doug has spent with me just chatting and helping out unselfishly. Doug is truely a person who really cares about helping others when he can and does it unselfishly without expecting favors in return.

I am pretty excited about getting the minor stuff fixed and I will keep you guys posted on my further results.

Wow thats a pretty strong starting number.740rwhp/728rwtq
What was your do it yourself cost for 740rwhp?
I bet thats an equally impressive number as well...

Trust me there's plenty more room for me to go above and beyond the 740 rwhp mark. Just a small few adjustments....

I don't really know what my cost was...I did it mostly so I could understand what was going on. I like to know what I have besides just driving it and showing it off. I'm a meats and potato guy! LOL! All I can say is it was cost effective and educational.

I don't think 11.4 is lean at all. Isn't that optimal for a S/C car whereas 13.0 is good for a N/A car?

I think the 11.8 ws a little on the lean side. I want to be a little piggy under boost.

11.5 or 12.0 is spot-on. 11.8 is neither rich nor lean. i'd be comfortable w/ it. as long as it isn't 14.0:1 !

numbers aren't bad for 8lb of boost. If you can find the other 7lbs, then there is fear to be had...

LOL! J Dell it will be found! Even if I have to hire a midget to blow into my blower to get the psi's in.

Since I didn't have moving air..my numbers could have been higher....

Hey Adam, how long did it take to eat up the belt?

hmm...go get a block of cheese and get a cheese shredder...then that should give you an idea! LOL!.

I'm not saying his pullies are bad..it just wasn't right for my applications. His pullies look real nice and quailty built.

Nice numbers given the belt slip. I was keen to see how the pulley worked, but I guess you have answered that. Why do you think it is chewing the belt so bad ? BTW, where are you going to use that 4.5" alluminium bend ?

The 586 hp was with a stock Paxton system. The other
runs are with my custom set up...I plan on gaining anout
120-150 more horse power after the belt slippage issue
is resolved with another pulley in place.

Thanks Steve...if it wasn't for you I would behind schedule! My car thanks ya!! You will have to take my car out for a spin when I get the belt issue taken care of.
