I was hoping for at least 410 with my mods but didn't quit get it. Seems a bit low to me I dunno. I got belanger headers, no cats, roe racing mufflers, smooth tubes, K&N Filters, and gears. Seems like Gen I guys with the same mods but no headers are pulling better numbers.

Put down 400rwhp 468rwtq

Thoughts?

That's pretty good numbers, but if you have older wires and plugs, you may be out 5-10 HP. Get a set of AB's wires and only use the stock Champ plugs.

You could also install the Tornado to get that extra 15 HP................................................ :D

47k Miles. Wires were replaced at 37k miles. I just changed the plugs a month ago.

When I first got it, it had different mufflers, no cats, and stock headers of course. It then dyno'd 378/447. Will the 3.73 gears rob any HP?

Def. change the wires, and I have heard you could loose 2% with the higher gears. Other say it doesn't matter.

My first car was a 96 RT(Gen I) and with similar mods as you, I dynoed at 392/472. It also had 3.73's. My best time in the 1/4 was an 11.8 at 118 MPH.

Well and whats wierd too is that a couple months ago with the same mods I was on a mustang dyno and put down 362/448. I was told a mustang dyno could be 10% or more below a dynojet. And when I compare my mustang #s with other Vipers on mustang dynos I'm even putting down better #s then some Gen IIs. But its not trasnlating to the dynojet like I thought. #s don't really matter much to me, I'm just curious. I wonder if all dynos with different software and how there setup are just gonna dyno differently.

I remember one post in my search on this forum and my mustang #s were higher then his mustang #s, but my dynojet #s were lower then his dynojet #s, lol.

With K&Ns, no cats, high flow mufflers, Champions and MSD wires, I put down 389. Once I added the VEC and a moderate tune, I picked up another 15.

I'm heading in tomorrow to tune it with heads/cam and some other stuff and hoping for high 400s. We'll see.

Those are great #s and I've heard that all the gears do is move the HP around the RPM range and maybe a little loss due to the steeper gears. Your right in there with the # cuz my 96' GTS's #s are 461rwhp and 513rwtq with pretty much the same mods except for the gears N/A no spray. :2tu:

Good numbers for a Gen 1, most of them are under 400.
Mine was 410HP/478TQ, with stock (1998) exhaust manifolds (not the cast iron 1993 ones), 3" exhaust, no cats, smooth tubes. Close to yours. No gears......

I was same as this, but kept hi flow cats and had 1.7 rockers and did 408/480.

Perhaps a bit low, but not more than 10RWHP low. Since dyno's varry a bit, it's probably in the range.

My Gen1 with K&N and smooth tubes dyno'd at 375RWHP.
