Just found an oil leak in my 93 RT/10. Car has 67,000 miles on it. The oil leak is coming through the side of the oil pan. Two Viper Techs have told me they have seen porous aluminum oil pans before.

Has anyone else had this problem?? Just checking. Luckily, the fix is not difficult....nothing an $800 bill can't resolve.

Someone before posted a process that seemed totally anal about cleaning, what and how, use silicone, put the four corner bolts in and let them bring up the pan evenly, etc. Oil leaks are a pain and it made a lot of sense. Maybe I'll try searching for it.

A Tech here in Indy suggested using teflon tape on each of the pan bolts...NO MORE leaking around the bolts !!

the oil pan bolts are drill all the way into the block. so tape or silcone is the why to stop the leak.
