From a Dodge dealer website, regarding the shorty OEM headers...
*Same as 1998-02 production
*439 stainless steel contruction
*23 lbs. lighter than production cast iron manifolds
*Includes: mounting hardware, high temperature heat shields, gaskets and header-to-catalyst pipe (welding required)
P5007019 Street header - 1992-97 RT/10 & GTS
May require grinding of tie-bar for head bolt clearance
The question... Assuming the "tie bar" is the webbing between the header ports, why does it need to be ground on <98 Vipers? Are 98+ head bolts different or is this applicable only when fitted to GENI engines?
Thanks
