Michelin Pilots on Comp Coupes??

Got my Viper Magazine today (Membership has it's Priveledges) and in the Comp Coupe article is says the Michelin Pilot Sport is the OEM tire.

When did this change from the "other" tire that was not to be a D.O.T. tire and was on the early mules? Why? How? Anyone know?

I think this is great (personally) but there has to be a story here somewhere...

They were originally going to run Michelin Pilot Sport Race Tires, but if you view the pictures you will see that Hoosier Slicks are on the Super Snakes!!

And the CC sticky Hoosier Slicks will fit on 18' stock BBS wheels(GT2/ACR). The fronts could use a little wider wheel but the rear's fit nice.
