This years forth annual fall foliage tour will start at beautiful in Hot Springs, Arkansas, known for its therapeutic hot baths, relaxing natural scenery, and historic downtown complete with bathhouses, art galleries, and tempting gift shops. We will begin the event Saturday morning at the Lake Hamilton Resort for a quick half-hour drive to nearby Lake Quachita for a home-style breakfast. Next we'll pass through Mt. Ida on our way to Mena for a couple of special visits as we trek to the top of Queen Wilhelmena Mountain. After that, we will return to Hot Springs via the back roads for and early afternoon stop at the top of the Hot Springs over look. The group will leave there for a drive along Arkansas' scenic highway seven, and then conclude the evening with a group dinner at the Top of Petit Jean Mountain as we watch the sun set. Sunday morning we will have brunch at the Lake Hamilton Resort and then say our "good-byes" until next year.

I've done Jay's event the last two years. Unfortunately, this year it falls on the weekend I'm heading out to SEMA in Las Vegas. I'm REALLY going to miss being able to go.

I urge anyone within a day's drive of Hot Springs to take advantage of the opportunity. You will have one of the most enjoyable experiences of your Viper ownership. The people, food, and twisty ROADS are GREAT. Oh yea...... the whole reason for it, the beautiful fall colors...... are pretty awesome too!

OK all, it is still not to late!

We are getting more registrations daily and the weather is looking to be Perfect: Sunny and 68 degrees! We have changed the schedule a bit:

We'll be starting off with breakfast at "Shangri-La" (really) then on to Mena where we have lunch and added a visit to Brodix, and a few fantastic "garages", one was an antique gas station, the other a Frank Lloyd Write designed restored Studebaker Dealership, both are fantastic.... Next we cruise to the top of Queen Wilhelmena Mountain, then onto the top of Pitit Jean Mountain (for Dinner) - Both have spectacular views of the stunning Fall Foliage! All the back roads are made specially for Vipers.

If you are attending, don't forget to bring a Viper Related item to auction off, all proceeds will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Also, remember to bring your walkie-talkies.

Great scenery, food, driving and comapany..... it is a lot of fun, you won't want to miss it!

The Mid-South region would like to thank all that attended the Fall Foliage Drive this past Friday and Saturday. We enjoyed the participation of a great bunch of folks from five states (AR, LA, MS, MO, and TX). The conversation was great, and driving spirited ('cept for the time's we got caught behind the Suburban and the Cushman).

Everybody deserves a big hand for helping raise $800 for the Red Cross Disaster relief fund through the auction items that attendees donated.

Finally, a special thanks to member Dub Clenney for organizing the visits to the Brodix racing head and block manufacturing facility, and the fantastic "garages (?)" in Mena.

The events "Hard Luck Award" goes to Michael Martin who's clutch linkage fell apart on the way to breakfast. Luckily, there was a Church parking lot close, and a lot off moral support as all the pieces that landed on the floor board were reassembled. They stayed together all day. Michael's brakes seemed to work fine when the deer wandered in front of us on the way back from Petit Jean Mountain.

Thanks again to all that attended, we hope to see you again next year for the sixth annual Fall Foliage Event. Bring your friends!
