Need HELP GEN 2 RT/10 Driver Seat - Can't Figure out how to put it back together!!!

Hey Guys, I finally got around to re-upholstering my Driver seat....had the new skin sitting in a box for over a year. All went great from taking the seat out, to taking the top part off the bottom to removing the old Leather and installing new leather.....PROBLEM. Attaching the top part of the seat to the bottom....There are 2 T45 Torx screws (1 on each side), then there is a rod with a spring around it on the seat bottom that attaches with a thick pin inbetween a metal piece on the top Frame.....when i attach the pin to the seat bottom, it seems like the rod on the seat bottom is too far back (i don't believe this rod adjusts at all......So when i attach the 2 T45 Torx screws the seat back is WAY forward....it should be reclined much more to match the passenger seat......BIG question.... WHAT part did I miss? I KNOW i HAVE to have missed something. I am really angry because I took amazing pictures of everything as i went along to make sure i didn't screw up and, obviously something is not right, and i don't know what.....Please help! I am pulling my hair out over this...

Well after spending a lot more time i figured out what the problem is, but don't know how to fix it. It's the Reclining mechanism. The the wire that releases the latch which controls that PIN which controls the recline is not working. Any thoughts?

Er, have you pulled apart both seats at the same time? If not why not take the passenger out and look closely at the mechanism? Sorry but that's the best I could think of
Ive just had a look in the Workshop manual, sorry to say there's nothing in there about how it works

THanks so much for the response, i do appreciated it. I actually did pull the passenger seat out (after pulling 1/2 my hair out ) And i realized its the reclining mechanism thats not catching when i engage it. I gave up fiddling with it and drove the seat over to our good friend Chuck Tator. I feel better now! He said he will handle it...situation dissolved!

Glad to hear your on the way to getting the issue fixed, Sadly Chuck is a bit further away from me, otherwise Im sure I would be a regular Visitor

LOL I agree, I told Chuck that if it were not for him I would not even own a Viper. The HORROR stories I have heard about so many of the "Viper Specialists" in my area and all over for that matter would turn me away if not for Chuck and Rob.

Thanks to Chuck Seat is back in business! Turns out the reclining mechanism was totally shot, got a new one from Paul at Don Sharf with the quickness (Thanks Paul!) and Chuck had the seat brand new in no time. Chuck saves the day AGAIN!
