Need quick help!..... Do I need a new serp belt tensioner???

Hello all,
I am working on my snake as I type and dont have access to my shop manual (packed away, just moved).
After i drive the snake for a while it starts making a slight "chirpping' sound from the serp belt area....I bought a belt and tensioner and need to know how much tension the tensioner is supposed to have, I would assume you would test by pulling on it with a torque wrench, but I dont know what the spec. is on the tensioner.
Please help!!

You bought a belt "and" tensioner ? If it's spring loaded tensioner like a gen2 just put it on. Sometimes a belt just goes bad and won't quit making noise.

Ya I bought both just because....
I guess ill just slam the belt on....The belt on the car isnt very old...like 2k miles, but it is a AC Delco belt....got it from work (i work at a Cad. Dealer).
The new belt I got from Dodge....Ill try it.

Put the tensioner on too.

Get a slightly smaller belt, that helps load up the tensioner and reduces the slipping.
